Unlock your future with Transfer Week
Lizzie Babashova, Staff Writer
The Coon Rapids Academic Advising Office will be hosting Transfer Week from Sept. 12 to Sept. 15, in the Legacy Room. There will be colleges from Minnesota State, Minnesota private colleges, the University of Minnesota, and neighboring states such as Iowa, Wisconsin, North Dakota, and South Dakota.
Anoka-Ramsey will also be offering sessions on how to utilize DARS and Transferology in the Riverview Room throughout the week at 1 p.m. During these sessions, academic advisors will teach students how to access and read their Interactive Degree Audit Report (DARS) as well as how to use the Trasferology website in order to prepare students for transferring to a 4-year college.
This is an all-week event that is extremely helpful and informative for students. Miranda Peterson, a first year Anoka-Ramsey student, is really looking forward to it.
“It’s pretty nice having a whole week dedicated to transferring! Anoka-Ramsey has really prepared me for what I need to do and what classes I need to take before transferring to the U of M,” Peterson said.
The advisors have been busy preparing for Transfer Week and are excited to get the ball rolling! Cat Hillyard, an Anoka-Ramsey academic advisor, is especially enthused.
“Choosing a transfer school is an important but complicated process. Transfer Week provides students with an opportunity to meet representatives from different colleges and universities. Students can ask questions and begin having those conversations with potential transfer schools, or they can just get an idea of what options are out there. Whether you’re almost at the finish line for graduation or you’ve only just started at Anoka-Ramsey this semester, it’s never too early to start thinking about your transfer journey,” Hillyard said.
