Student Senate voted in Becca Larson, current president of ARCC-Coon Rapids Student Senate for a second term as president for the 2016-2017 year.
The application process opened up prior to Spring Break. The application was due on March 24 at Noon.
“There was only one application that was fully completed for President, which was mine,” said Larson.
There was one application that was turned in for vice president. It was turned in late and was incomplete so it was deemed invalid. The application process entails that a person fill out an application, get 15 student signatures, and include a letter of intent detailing their qualifications and future plans for student senate.
“Since there was only one application, during our regular meeting on March 30, 2016, the senate voted to approve the application and vote the person in,” said Larson.
The voting process was chaired by the Director of Communications Megan Evenson and it was motioned and seconded to vote Larson in for a second term for president. Evenson then called for a vote and the motion passed.
