The ARCC STEM Chicks Club hosted its yearly Women in STEM panel at the Coon Rapids campus on, March 23.
Club members welcomed six remarkable women from various fields of engineering, science, and technology. The panelists shared insights, experience, and advice with the audience. With over one hundred students, and a number of faculty and staff members present, there was no scarcity of questions, or answers, with the session running past the one hour mark.
Overall, the event fostered a diverse and encouraging atmosphere for all of those present, and delivered a bright hope that STEM industries are now more than ever accepting the integration of all sexes, cultures and backgrounds into the field.
Thank you to STEM Chicks president Emily Jenkins, STEM Chicks Vice-President, Kristin Johnson, and all of the faculty advisors for the STEM Chicks Club for the great event and networking opportunity. A special thank you to our six panelists: Katherine Brown, Ashley Richter, Jennifer Horton, Tammy Gorsuch, Alison Bakken, and Chris Scribner for their time and commitment to supporting and inspiring women in STEM.
