The following incidents were reported to Public Safety on ARCC’s Coon Rapids campus in September 2014.
9/2/14 – A student’s car had rolled into a staff member’s car on College Drive in the parking zone. Police were called, pulled the student out of class, and they handled it from there. No damage or injuries.
9/3/14 – A student backed into the passenger side of another student’s vehicle in the parking lot. There was damage to the car but no injuries. A police report was filled out and security reviewed the cameras. Nothing further to report.
9/8/14 – In upper humanities 911 was called because a student was having a seizure. Upon arrival, the student was just beginning to wake up. Paramedics transported the student to the hospital and the mother was contacted. 911 handled it from there.
9/8/14 CC – A student reported that his car had been keyed. The student was unaware of the exact time and date but was convinced it happened while he was parked on campus. Security reviewed the tape but nothing suspicious was found. The student was referred to the Cambridge police and they handled it from there.
9/10/14 CR – A former staff member of The Campus Eye checked out a camera in May 2014 and hadn’t returned it. Security is investigating the situation and performing a follow-up. Camera later returned.
9/10/14 – A student was reported missing and was last seen on campus. The student was later located. A dead cell phone resulted in a failure for proper communication between the mother and child.
9/11/14 – An accident occurred between lots 1 and 2 in the driving lane. One car pulled in front of the other and hit the right side door and fender. Both cars were towed but no medical assistance was needed. Nothing further to report.
9/12/14 – 911 was called to the Business and Nursing building because a student was ill. Paramedics transported that student to the hospital. Illness unknown.
9/14/14 CR – One car backed into another car in the parking lot. There were no injuries but there was some damage. The police are handling this situation.
9/15/14 – A student in glass-blowing class leaned up against a locker unaware of the glass pieces that were hanging there. The student accidently knocked the pieces onto the ground causing the glass to shatter. They reported that some of the glass got into their eye resulting in a trip to the hospital. All of the glass was removed from the locker and will not be allowed in the future. Nothing further to report.
9/16/14 – A driver turned too sharp into the parking space and hit another car. There was significant damage to the car. Police are handling this situation.
9/17/14 – A student in lot 3 attempted to park and scratched the bumper of another vehicle. Both of the owners agreed that the damage was minimal and there was no need to fill out a police report.
9/18/14 – A student dropped their wallet in the student center lounge. When they went back to get it, the wallet was gone. Later that evening, purchases were made with the credit card. The police are handling this situation.
